The eight major protections for belt conveyors include the following:
- Anti slip protection: When the driving drum slips and rubs against the conveyor belt, the anti slip protection device will automatically stop the belt conveyor and give an alarm.
- Emergency stop protection: The bidirectional emergency stop protection device allows the installation of pull line emergency stop switches along the belt, such as loading points, pedestrian overpasses, machine heads, tail, etc., for fault emergency stop protection.
- Coal stacking protection: The coal stacking protection device can automatically stop the belt conveyor and give an alarm when coal is piled up at the head of the belt conveyor.
- Automatic sprinkler device: This device can be installed on both sides of the conveyor drive device. When the conveyor belt deviates or slips, causing high temperature, it can extinguish fire and cool down by sprinkling water.
- Over speed protection: Although the details of this protection are not specified in detail, it usually refers to avoiding conveyor speeds that are too fast to reduce potential hazards.
- Temperature protection: When the temperature of the conveyor belt is too high and exceeds the set threshold, the temperature protection will be activated, causing the conveyor to automatically stop and alarm.
- Smoke protection: The smoke protection device can automatically sound and light an alarm and stop the conveyor when smoke is generated near the belt conveyor and reaches a certain concentration.
- Anti tear protection: When the running tape tears longitudinally, the anti tear protection device will alarm and terminate the operation of the belt conveyor to prevent accidents from expanding.
